Return From Injury List
The 49ers will activate defensive end Mykel Williams from the physically unable to perform list on Saturday ahead of Sunday's game against the Seahawks. Williams, who returned to practice the previous week, is listed as questionable but is expected to play in his first game of the 2026 season. The team released defensive end Ogbo Okoronkwo on Friday to create a roster spot.
Recovery and Preparation
Williams suffered a torn ACL and meniscus damage in his right knee on Nov. 2, 2025, during a game against the New York Giants. He has returned to the team leaner and quicker following the recovery process.
Role in Defensive Rotation
Williams will join an end rotation that includes Keion White, Khalid Kareem and rookie Romello Height. He will not face specific workload limits upon his return.
