Bosa's Absence Confirmed
The 49ers have officially ruled out defensive end Nick Bosa for Monday night's game against the Washington Commanders. He continues to recover from a calf injury and did not practice during the week. The team had held some hope for his return after he expressed optimism earlier, but the decision means his availability will be pushed back at least another week. Coach Kyle Shanahan noted that while there was a possibility, another week of recovery should help ensure he is fully ready.
Evans and Juszczyk Updates
Receiver Mike Evans is questionable after missing practice with Achilles soreness following last week's win over the Seattle Seahawks. He performed conditioning work on the side but will have his status confirmed on Monday. Fullback Kyle Juszczyk has no injury designation and is expected to return after recovering from a knee sprain and bone bruise suffered in Week 4 against the Denver Broncos. He practiced fully on Friday and Saturday.
Additional Injury Report Notes
Several other players were ruled out, including receiver Deebo Samuel with a hamstring issue, safety Marques Sigle with an ankle problem and linebacker Garret Wallow with a hamstring injury. Defensive tackle Gracen Halton, safety Siran Neal, cornerback Upton Stout, defensive lineman Mykel Williams and wideout Christian Kirk are all questionable. Kirk's practice window was opened this week after a calf injury that had kept him out since training camp began.
