Exit During First Half
Mike Evans caught a 16-yard in-breaker from Brock Purdy with 1:10 left in the second quarter. After being touched down by Jeremy Reaves, the receiver remained on the field stretching his right leg. Medical staff assisted him to his feet and helped him walk slowly off the field toward the locker room. The 49ers initially listed him as questionable to return before ruling him out early in the third quarter.
Limited Preparation and Soreness
Evans had not practiced all week while recovering from broken ribs along with a sore Achilles. He carried a questionable designation into the matchup. He had managed to play through the Achilles discomfort for most of the first half before the aggravation forced his departure.
Available Receivers
Without Evans, the healthy options at wide receiver for the 49ers are Jordan Watkins, Brandin Cooks, Jacob Cowing and Malik Turner.
