Rookie Makes Impact
The New York Jets turned to a 23-year-old rookie for a needed lift in their 17-12 win over the Cleveland Browns. David Bailey recorded three sacks, eight quarterback pressures and seven tackles while helping end a three-game losing streak. The second overall pick became the first Jets rookie since 1995 to post three sacks in one game and the first player in the league to do so since 2022. Bailey now has five sacks through his first five career games.
Defense Dominates
New York's front helped limit the Browns to 198 total yards and produced eight sacks of Deshaun Watson. Bailey participated in seven of those sacks. The Jets also became the first team since the 1999 Buccaneers to hold three of their first five opponents under 200 yards. The unit faced 89 plays but forced a low-output day from Cleveland.
Late Score Seals Win
After falling behind 12-10 in the fourth quarter, the Jets recovered a high snap on a punt at the Browns' 23-yard line. Braelon Allen, who finished with 116 rushing yards, scored on a 22-yard run with just over three minutes remaining. Watson was strip-sacked on the final play to preserve the victory.
