Activation and Injury Recovery
The Bears have activated nickel corner Kyler Gordon off the physically unable to perform list and onto the 53-man roster. Gordon missed the first four games while recovering from a calf injury that kept him on the PUP list since Aug. 30. He returned to practice Sept. 30 and has participated fully in sessions over the past three weeks. The team placed defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo on injured reserve after he sustained a quad injury in the loss to the Packers.
Additional Roster Adjustments
In related moves, the Bears released safety Xavier Woods, who had started the previous two games, and signed defensive back Nick McCloud from the practice squad to the active roster. Gordon, the 39th overall pick in the 2022 draft, has not played since the divisional playoff game against the Rams in January.
Career Numbers and Recent Form
Over his career, Gordon has recorded five interceptions, 17 passes defensed, 2.5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles. He signed a three-year, $40 million extension with $31.25 million guaranteed in April 2025. Last season he allowed 16 receptions on 24 targets for 243 yards and three touchdowns while posting a 139.4 passer rating in coverage. The Bears fell 31-7 to the Packers and could use help in the secondary as Gordon works back toward game action.
