Trade Details
The Bears acquired All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons from the Titans in exchange for first-round picks in 2027 and 2028 along with a 2027 fourth-round selection. Tennessee also received a 2028 fifth-round pick in the deal. The Bears enter the trade at 5-2 while the Titans stand at 1-6.
Player Profile
Simmons, 29, has recorded 46.5 sacks, 72 tackles for loss and 96 quarterback hits across eight seasons since being selected in the first round in 2019. He earned first-team All-Pro honors last season after posting 11 sacks and has led the Titans this year with four sacks, six tackles for loss and four passes defended through seven games. He operates under a three-year extension worth $105.8 million that includes $100 million in guarantees and runs through 2030.
Impact on Both Sides
The addition addresses Chicago's interior pass rush, which ranks 23rd in win rate at 13 percent this season. Simmons posted a 27 percent win rate as a defensive tackle. Tennessee will rely on a rotation featuring Solomon Thomas and John Franklin-Myers after Simmons had played 86.6 percent of defensive snaps. The move also reunites Simmons with a former college teammate on the Bears defensive line.
