Monangai Sidelined With Dual Injuries
The Bears will miss running back Kyle Monangai against the Packers after he was ruled out with thumb and toe issues. He had carried the ball 30 times in the prior game before exiting late. The toe injury has proven more significant than first thought, placing him in a walking boot and on a week-to-week timetable without a path to injured reserve.
Rushing Attack Shifts to Swift and Johnson
D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson will lead the league's top rushing unit that averages 196 yards per game and leads the NFL with 421 yards before contact plus 364 after contact. The Packers allow 139.3 rushing yards per contest. Johnson, limited to seven games in 2025 by injury, had four carries for 16 yards in the final 9 minutes and 16 seconds after replacing Monangai following the 4:08 mark. He scored a career-best six touchdowns in 2024, all inside the 10-yard line, and could aid red-zone efficiency after the team went 4-of-13 in that area since Week 2.
Williams Remains Questionable at Quarterback
Caleb Williams, dealing with a hamstring injury, practiced in a limited capacity on Friday and is questionable. Tyson Bagent is set to start for a second straight week. Williams has followed a throwing protocol every couple of days while increasing his running work with trainers.
