Williams sidelined by hamstring injury
Chicago will face Philadelphia on Monday night without Caleb Williams, who has been ruled out because of a right hamstring injury. Williams was hurt late in the Bears' 9-3 defeat to Minnesota in Week 2 and missed practice throughout the preparation for the Eagles. His status remains week-to-week. The absence will interrupt a run of consecutive starts that began after Chicago selected him with the first overall pick in 2024.
Bagent progresses, Keenum remains an option
Tyson Bagent participated fully in Saturday's final practice, though he remains in the concussion protocol and is questionable for Monday. He returned to Halas Hall on Friday and attended meetings before getting back on the field. Coach Ben Johnson emphasized Bagent's health as the priority and expressed confidence in his mental preparation as he progresses toward a possible return. Chicago has not settled its quarterback depth chart or named a starter against Philadelphia. Case Keenum, the team's third-string quarterback, practiced throughout the week and could make his first regular-season start since Dec. 2024. Johnson noted the quarterbacks offer different skills while expressing confidence in both players' preparation. He also pointed to the staff's belief in Bagent when it chose him as the backup coming out of camp.
Santos cleared; Trapilo still waiting
Kicker Cairo Santos carries no injury designation after practicing fully Saturday. A right hip injury had kept him out of Thursday's and Friday's sessions. Left tackle Ozzy Trapilo also practiced fully throughout the week and was removed from the injury report, but he will not return against the Eagles.
