Bowens ruled out
Georgia will be without junior Chauncey Bowens on Saturday night against No. 6 Alabama. Bowens leads the No. 2 Bulldogs with six rushing touchdowns in five games and has carried 35 times for 124 yards. He serves as the primary short-yardage and goal-line option and suffered the injury during last week's win over Vanderbilt.
Frazier cleared to play
Nate Frazier is off the availability report and expected to return after missing most of the past two games with bruised ribs. The junior leads Georgia with 211 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He had only two carries for 9 yards against Vanderbilt after sitting out the win over Oklahoma.
Phillips steps up in absence
Junior Dwight Phillips Jr. took on a larger role while Frazier was limited. Phillips ran for 84 yards and one touchdown against Oklahoma. He is the son of the 2004 Olympic gold medalist in the long jump.
Dowdell still recovering
Georgia signed Kentucky transfer Dante Dowdell in the offseason but he has missed the entire season while recovering from injuries suffered in an ATV accident. He has been treated at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, which specializes in spinal cord and brain injuries.
