Brighton secured a convincing victory over Crystal Palace with five different goalscorers contributing to the result. Diego Gómez then found the net from the halfway line in the seventh minute to extend the advantage. The team reached a 3-0 lead inside the opening 10 minutes. Further strikes from Charalampos Kostoulas and Jack Hinshelwood completed the scoring in the second half.
Hürzeler Calls for Measured Response
Despite collecting 16 points from a possible 21 so far, the Brighton manager told supporters not to check the league table. He advised them to enjoy the evening without phones and to celebrate while wearing the club colours. Hürzeler repeated his focus on performances rather than results, noting that the only controllable element is how the team plays. He said the priority remains player and club development ahead of the next fixture against Jablonec on Thursday.
Palace Struggle Continues
Crystal Palace have collected just seven points from their opening seven games. Their manager Pierre Sage accepted responsibility for the performance and apologised to supporters for the manner of the defeat. He noted the team had not reached the expected level and failed to understand the context of the match. Brighton will next travel to Anfield to face Liverpool next weekend.
