Contract Details

Oswaldo Cabrera has agreed to a one-year contract worth $1 million with the Reds. The 27-year-old infielder and outfielder can add up to $200,000 through performance bonuses tied to plate appearances, with payments of $50,000 each at the 200, 300, 400 and 500 mark. He had been eligible for arbitration.

Recent Playing Time

Cabrera was claimed off waivers from the Yankees on Sept. 18. He went 0 for 9 during his time with New York and finished 4 for 13 after joining Cincinnati under a prior $1.2 million contract. Most of his season was spent at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, where he hit.288 with 19 homers, 69 RBI and 12 stolen bases across 122 games.

Prior Seasons and Injury

Cabrera received notable playing time with the Yankees in both 2023 and 2024. A fractured left ankle suffered on May 13, 2025, at Seattle during an awkward slide ended his year. Over parts of five major-league seasons he owns a.233 average along with 20 homers, 95 RBI and 16 stolen bases.
