Case Keenum turned an emergency assignment into a statement win for Chicago. Starting because of injuries to Caleb Williams and Tyson Bagent, the veteran quarterback guided the Bears to a 27-7 victory over Philadelphia on Monday night. Keenum had gone 1,009 days without a regular-season start, but the layoff hardly showed. He completed 24-of-34 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns, adding a 1-yard rushing score. Both teams left the matchup at 2-1.
Keenum punishes Philadelphia’s pressure
The Eagles could not unsettle Chicago’s replacement quarterback. Keenum completed all 11 of his throws against the blitz for 145 yards and two touchdowns, improving his record against Vic Fangio defenses to 4-0 as a starter. Kalif Raymond provided a dependable target, catching six passes for 90 yards and a touchdown. Luther Burden III, Rome Odunze and Colston Loveland also contributed to a passing attack that carried the offense despite Chicago averaging 3.7 yards per rush.
Bears defense keeps Eagles contained
Chicago limited Philadelphia to 248 total yards, with Dillon Thieneman and T.J. Edwards each intercepting Jalen Hurts. The Eagles struggled to establish an offensive rhythm, while costly mistakes further narrowed their chances. A neutral zone infraction on fourth-and-short extended a Bears possession that ended with a touchdown to put the game away. Philadelphia now faces a short turnaround before meeting the Los Angeles Rams, with defensive vulnerabilities over the middle among its concerns.
