TCU and West Virginia total
West Virginia likes to run the ball on nearly 70 percent of plays, but TCU ranks among the better defenses against the run and pass while converting on 70 percent of third downs. The Horned Frogs also limit touchdowns on fewer than half of red zone trips. TCU lacks the offensive firepower of some recent West Virginia opponents, which should help keep the total down.
Miami and Central Michigan total
Miami has thrown for just 95 yards and 65 yards in its last two games, while Central Michigan has three passing touchdowns all season. Central Michigan prefers to run, yet Miami has held its last three opponents under three yards per carry. Both teams favor slower paces that shorten games when either side takes a lead.
Oklahoma State and Colorado total plus Utah
Oklahoma State has scored at least 32 points against four different opponents this season, and Colorado allows big gains through the air. Oklahoma State rarely slows down even with a lead, creating room for late points from both sides. Utah has not lost at home since Sept. 20 of last year and owns the better quarterback, who completes 68.6 percent of passes overall and 73.1 percent at home while averaging 11 carries per game in Salt Lake City.
