Key Heads to Injured Reserve

The Colts moved defensive end Arden Key to injured reserve following a hamstring issue that occurred in their recent win against the Washington Commanders. The move requires Key to sit out at least four games before he can return. Through the early portion of the season, Key had accounted for 64 percent of the team's defensive snaps.

Lineup Adjustments Fill the Void

To bolster the defensive line, the team added veteran free agent Carl Lawson to the practice squad earlier in the week, though he remained inactive for the latest roster decisions. The absence opens opportunities for second-year defender Jaylahn Tuimoloau and rookie George Gumbs Jr. to see expanded responsibilities on the unit.

Slayton Sidelined for Pittsburgh Trip

Veteran receiver Darius Slayton was declared out for the Week 5 matchup at Pittsburgh after sustaining a knee injury during Friday's practice. Slayton had joined the club last month and was positioned for a possible first appearance. Indianapolis responded by elevating Nick Westbrook-Ikhine from the practice squad to address the receiving group.
