Crow-Armstrong rewards the investment
Pete Crow-Armstrong turned draft-day uncertainty into a standout fantasy season for the Chicago Cubs. Selected at No. 53 on average, the outfielder delivered the seventh 40-homer, 40-steal campaign in MLB history, making him the leading choice for fantasy’s most valuable hitter. The breakthrough was not immediate. Crow-Armstrong entered June batting.237 with seven home runs before changes to his mechanics and approach helped ignite his production. He hit.381 with 11 homers that month, added 14 home runs in August and reached the 40/40 milestone late in the season. Yordan Alvarez also gave managers a major return. Following an injury-disrupted 2025, the Houston slugger produced a.316 average, 42 home runs, 106 RBIs and 105 runs across 158 games. He finished fifth overall on the Player Rater and third among hitters.
Late bargains change the standings
Jordan Walker offered an even cheaper route to substantial production. With an average draft position of No. 458, the St. Louis outfielder was widely available before hitting.269 with 29 home runs, 102 RBIs and 22 steals. He ended 17th overall on the Player Rater despite a quieter second half. Chicago White Sox infielder Miguel Vargas was another major find, pairing 33 home runs with 106 runs and 22 steals. Detroit rookie Kevin McGonigle emerged as a top-10 hitter in points formats, while Colorado’s Jake McCarthy finished as the No. 7 fantasy outfielder.
