Strong Start on Both Ends
Joel Embiid delivered a balanced performance in the Sixers' 106-100 victory, finishing with 13 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and three blocks. His defensive impact stood out late when he rejected a dunk attempt and signaled to the opposition. The effort helped secure the win while highlighting his ability to impact games at both ends of the floor.
Eyes Return to Elite Defense
Embiid expressed confidence in regaining All-Defensive honors after making the second team three times, most recently in 2021. He described feeling quick and active throughout the contest and stated his intent to repeat that level of play consistently. Such contributions would alter the team's overall outlook for the season.
Health Recovery Fuels Optimism
After appearing in just 38 games last season due to multiple ailments, Embiid looked more like his prior self with noticeable spring and quickness. The improved movement allowed him to make smart decisions with the ball and read plays effectively on defense, drawing praise from the coaching staff for consistent smart choices throughout the game.
