Rapid Turnaround
The Falcons began the season 2-2 after scoring just 16 combined points in their opening two contests. They followed with a 35-14 road win over the Packers and then a 45-24 victory over the Saints, reaching 80 combined points in those two games. Atlanta is the first team to win consecutive road primetime contests by 20 or more points each.
Penix Leads the Way
Michael Penix Jr. returned from ACL surgery to start the past two games after the team opened with third-string quarterback Cooper Rush. He became the first Falcons quarterback since Matt Ryan in 2018 to post a completion percentage of at least 70 percent and 10 yards per attempt in back-to-back games.
Ground Attack Takes Off
Penix's return has fueled a dominant rushing attack that has exceeded 200 yards in each of the last two weeks. The Falcons scored five rushing touchdowns against the Saints, with Bijan Robinson carrying 19 times for 145 yards and two scores while Brian Robinson Jr. added 62 yards on 14 carries and three touchdowns.
