League-Wide Trends
Major League Baseball recorded 47,699 total days on the injured list across all teams this season, up from 44,372 the prior year and 43,253 in 2024. The number of placements reached 854, compared with 826 last year.
Giants Set New Mark
The Giants finished first in the majors with 2,379 days on the injured list and 44 placements. Several players accounted for extended absences, including three right-handers who each spent 187 days on the list.
Dodgers Finish Second
Los Angeles placed second with 2,318 days and 34 placements. The team had recorded 2,585 days and 37 placements the previous season before improving health helped secure a second straight World Series title. Earlier totals for the club stood at 2,465 days in 2024 and 2,219 in 2023.
Other Team Standings
Detroit ranked third at 2,216 days, followed by Toronto at 2,206, the Cubs at 2,160 and Boston at 2,009. Cleveland had the fewest placements with 14, while St. Louis recorded 606 days, Pittsburgh 768 and Philadelphia 809. The Giants posted the largest year-over-year increase at 1,630 days, with Cleveland showing the biggest decline at 1,041 days.
