Pub Events Draw Dedicated Crowds
Jaguars supporters filled a Central London pub for three hours as it was temporarily renamed Tealwood during one of three takeover events organized by the team's U.K. branch. Fans arrived wearing jerseys of players including Travis Hunter and Trevor Lawrence along with gear honoring former players like Fred Taylor. The gatherings included cheerleaders, mascot appearances and a trivia contest, with the final play from the prior week's 19-17 win shown on 17 screens. Another event is set for Friday night ahead of the game at Wembley Stadium.
Longtime Supporters Embrace Underdog Spirit
Two fans who have followed the team for years attended the event, one wearing an oversized hat and carrying a team-themed wrestling belt while the other wore a mascot fuzzy hat. Both have been to multiple London games, including the 19-17 victory decided by a 57-yard field goal. One has been a supporter for 15 years and was named the team's 2024 nominee for NFL International Fan of the Year. The other noted that even family members with little interest in sports have become obsessed with the Jaguars.
Youth Programs Expand Reach
The team's U.K. efforts include JagTag, a flag football program that grew from 1,200 participants across six schools in 2016 to 100,000 participants in 2024. The program now reaches 360 schools in six major cities and 12 towns around London. After practice at The Grove resort, 200 fans and dozens of students from the program took the field with practice squad members for drills. The franchise has played 15 games in London since 2013 as part of building its international fanbase.
