Practice Milestone Reached
Seth Jarvis has moved out of the yellow no-contact jersey during Carolina practices. The winger had been limited to that designation since the start of preseason camp while recovering from offseason surgery. He described the change as the largest step so far because it allows him to begin absorbing contact again, with the focus now on building comfort before full return.
Surgery and Initial Timeline
Jarvis underwent the procedure on his right shoulder June 24 to address tears in the labrum and rotator cuff. Doctors projected a recovery window of 4-6 months. The forward had originally sustained the injury during a November 2023 game and had managed symptoms for years by using a protective harness and adjusting his sleep position.
Targeted Return Window
Jarvis had expressed interest in rejoining the lineup in time for the team's two-game series against Seattle in Finland on Nov. 12 and 14. He also left open the possibility of an earlier return by the end of October as he continues to progress through the later stages of rehabilitation.
