Event Details
The NHL Heritage Classic returns after a three-year break as the Montreal Canadiens and Winnipeg Jets prepare to meet outdoors at Princess Auto Stadium in Manitoba, Canada, on Oct. 25. Both teams will wear new sweaters designed for the occasion.
Jets Sweater Design
The Jets will wear white throwback jerseys inspired by the original franchise look from the 1980s and 1990s. The design echoes their 2016 Heritage Classic sweater, featuring the legacy crest now rendered in felt with chain-stitched detailing and back numbers given a two-layer felt treatment.
Canadiens Sweater Design
The Montreal sweaters draw elements from past uniforms while staying true to the franchise's bleu, blanc et rouge color scheme. The logo receives a slight redraw with running-stitch detailing. Les Habitants appears in the back collar for the first time, and a fleur-de-lis on the loop label honors the home province of Quebec.
Heritage Classic History
Launched in 2003 with a game between the Canadiens and the Edmonton Oilers, the series is the NHL's Canadian-exclusive outdoor event. This marks the fifth outdoor game for the Canadiens, including three Heritage Classics, one Winter Classic and the NHL 100 game. It is the third outdoor game for the Jets, all of them Heritage Classics.
