Allen stepped in during Hall's five-game absence and posted the second-highest rushing total in that span behind only one other back. Allen gained 504 yards over those contests, topping Hall's best five-game output of 409 yards.
Allen delivers career day
Allen ran for a career-best 147 yards in the loss to the Raiders. He ranks 10th in rushing yards with 565, tied for fifth in yards after contact at 2.64 per carry and seventh in yards per carry at 5.0. Only Bucky Irving has more rushing yards than Allen over the past five games with 548. ET.
Workload questions remain
Allen, listed at 6-foot-1, 242 pounds and 22 years old, has shown power and the ability to handle volume. Hall remains under contract through 2028. The team could explore options at the trade deadline, yet the coaching staff has stated Hall will keep the starting role while Allen continues to receive carries.
