Contract Progress
Harry Kane believes a new agreement with Bayern Munich is nearly complete and could be signed within the next few days. The 33-year-old is approaching the end of the four-year deal he signed after leaving Tottenham Hotspur in 2023. Recent discussions have resolved most major issues, leaving only minor details for lawyers to settle.
Squad Setbacks
Bayern have endured a difficult period that included Kane being named the world's best player followed by a missed penalty in a 2-2 draw. Additional problems include an ankle injury requiring surgery for one midfielder and a hamstring issue for a forward. Head coach Vincent Kompany is recovering from meningeal irritation, while Michael Olise and Manuel Neuer are being monitored for knee and foot concerns.
European Ambitions
Kane has stressed his preference for collective success over personal honors and remains focused on advancing in the Champions League. Bayern sit 14th with five points while Atlético Madrid are 16th with four points. Both sides need a result on Tuesday to improve their positions, with Atlético aiming to extend an unbeaten run across all competitions.
