Injury occurs late in first half
The Kings saw their second-year center exit after taking contact to the outside of his right knee while setting a screen. Raynaud immediately showed distress and remained on the floor as play stopped. The team called for medical assistance, and he was helped off the court in a wheelchair before halftime testing began.
Team officials visit after ruling
The club officially listed Raynaud as out with the right knee issue early in the third quarter. General manager Scott Perry and owner Vivek Ranadive met with the player outside the locker room area, where Ranadive offered support amid growing concern that the center could miss extended time.
Raynaud had earned key rotation spot
Last season the center earned All-Rookie second-team honors after averaging 12.5 points and 7.5 rebounds across 74 games as a 42nd overall pick. He had been expected to provide important frontcourt depth behind starting center Domantas Sabonis once the regular season began.
