Strong Home Victory
The Lightning secured a 4-2 result against the Red Wings to extend their home winning streak to seven games. Brayden Point scored twice on the power play, while Anthony Cirelli added one goal. Detroit answered with tallies from Lucas Raymond and J.T. Compher, but Ryan McDonagh sealed the outcome with an empty-net goal in the final second.
Kucherov Draws Support
Nikita Kucherov posted two assists in his return to home ice following the trade request. Fans displayed signs reading We Stand with Kuch 86 and Pay Stay Kuch during warmups. Kucherov now has five assists across his last two contests. The forward is playing the final year of an eight-year, $76 million contract signed in 2018.
Context on the Request
Kucherov has twice helped the team capture the Stanley Cup, led the league in scoring on three occasions, and earned the Hart Trophy in 2018-19 and 2025-26. He has cited limited communication with the front office as the reason behind the trade ask.
