Jacquet Hamstring Strain
Liverpool are assessing the condition of Jeremy Jacquet after the centre-back missed France's Nations League match against Belgium. The defender had appeared in his first two senior internationals but was left out of the squad for the 4-1 win. Jacquet has started six of Liverpool's seven matches this season, lining up alongside Virgil van Dijk.
Forward Doubts Add Pressure
The club also has concerns over Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo. Isak was sent home after just one appearance with Sweden because of a minor thigh problem. Gakpo sustained an ankle injury while on duty with the Netherlands and is viewed as a greater concern. Head coach Andoni Iraola already has defensive cover through Ronald Araújo and Joe Gomez, yet the absence of the two forwards would leave the squad short in attack.
Adjustments Possible for City Visit
Summer signing Bradley Barcola may be asked to operate centrally despite preferring a wide role, while Florian Wirtz could shift forward from his number 10 position.
