Roles Unchanged After Review
Michigan will continue with Bryce Underwood as the starting quarterback and Jason Beck as the offensive playcaller. Coach Kyle Whittingham confirmed the staff is moving ahead with both in their positions.
Offense Faces Turnover Concerns
The unit has struggled, including a 20-14 loss at Minnesota on Oct. 3 that produced just 180 yards and three turnovers. Underwood has completed 59.3 percent of his passes for five touchdowns and four interceptions while adding 212 rushing yards and two scores. The team is working to adjust the scheme to improve results for the entire group.
Next Up and Backup Work
The Wolverines host Penn State this coming Saturday. Backup Tommy Carr took about half the first-team reps during the open week, which had been planned. Carr has appeared only briefly, completing both pass attempts in a win over UTEP. The program continues to stress the need to win the turnover battle to avoid further losses.
