Underdogs with a route to victory

The Broncos have a compelling upset opportunity against the Rams in Week 3, particularly if Puka Nacua is sidelined by his groin injury. His potential absence would allow Pat Surtain II to concentrate on Davante Adams, while Denver's pass rush tests a vulnerable offensive line and tries to disrupt Matthew Stafford. For Denver's offense, quick connections between Bo Nix and Jaylen Waddle could help prevent difficult third-down situations. Dallas also has a plausible upset formula against Baltimore in Rio de Janeiro: establish an early lead through Dak Prescott and force the Ravens to chase. The major obstacle remains containing Baltimore's ground game.

Kansas City offers touchdown upside

Kenneth Walker III's workload makes him a strong touchdown candidate against Miami. He is averaging 23.5 carries and 4.5 receptions per game, and the Dolphins have already allowed eight touchdowns. Xavier Worthy also has a favorable opening for a rebound. Miami's heavy use of single-high coverage could create opportunities for Patrick Mahomes to attack outside with deep throws. A projection of 3 catches for 64 yards and 1 touchdown reflects that matchup potential rather than Worthy's modest early production.

Fantasy options beyond the obvious

C.J. Stroud warrants consideration as a streaming quarterback against Indianapolis, even with Nico Collins unavailable because of a hamstring injury. Stroud has delivered at least 16 fantasy points in each outing, and the Colts have surrendered the third-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. Philadelphia receiver Dontayvion Wicks could benefit from additional opportunities with Dallas Goedert out because of an MCL sprain. Wicks caught 5 passes for 74 yards last week. Adonai Mitchell is another sleeper after drawing 12 targets and playing 82% of the snaps in Week 2. Detroit's depleted secondary offers an inviting matchup for his expanding role alongside Garrett Wilson.
