Quarterback Outlook

Several teams face decisions on their starting quarterbacks after this season. Jalen Hurts remains under contract through 2028, though only $22 million of his $51.5 million salary in 2027 is guaranteed. The Eagles have other young players due for extensions soon. Bo Nix has shown limitations this year, including reduced mobility after an earlier ankle issue, and Denver has used two playcallers. Sam Darnold has one year left on his deal with the Seahawks at $35.5 million in 2027, none of it guaranteed, and the team must decide by March 16. C.J. Stroud has posted strong numbers, including one interception on 219 attempts while pacing toward nearly 4,900 passing yards over 17 games.

Colts Face Uncertainty

Indianapolis fired general manager Chris Ballard on Monday and now weighs further changes. Daniel Jones ranks 30th in QBR at 38.2 and averages 1.5 turnovers per game. Coach Shane Steichen could receive more time to make his case, but owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon may seek broader alignment. The team lacks a 2027 first-round pick and holds expiring contracts for several veterans. The trade deadline arrives Nov. 10, giving the club a short window to evaluate its direction.

Trade Possibilities

Rival clubs expect Indianapolis to entertain offers before Nov. 10. Quenton Nelson, a longtime starter, has drawn attention because the team did not pursue an extension aggressively. Other players such as DeForest Buckner and Josh Downs also finish their deals this season. The Seahawks continue to monitor Sam Darnold while Drew Lock has performed well in relief appearances.
