Blue Jackets Meet Wild
The clubs share expansion origins from the 2000-01 season yet carry limited prior meetings, where Minnesota holds a 36-23-11 edge. Fans of USA Hockey will find interest in the contest even with Brock Faber sidelined. Quinn Hughes and Matt Boldy suit up for the Wild while Zach Werenski logs heavy minutes for the Blue Jackets.
Hurricanes Visit Flames
Upper-echelon clubs have struggled against the defending Stanley Cup champs this season, as only the Panthers and Capitals have secured victories. The Flames never competed in the former Southeast Division but trace their start to Atlanta, adding possible motivation as they seek a second win of the season against their visitors.
Schedule Context
Just two of the 28 teams active on Saturday return to the ice Sunday. Both contests feature opponents coming off rest following the prior night's full slate of results.
