Walk-Off Kick Seals Oklahoma Victory
Oklahoma secured a dramatic win over top-ranked Texas when its kicker connected on a field goal as time expired. The victory improved the team's record to 3-2. Following the kick, the player carried a team flag to midfield before teammates lifted him up wearing the Golden Hat. The Longhorns entered the matchup undefeated but had shown vulnerabilities in prior close contests against other opponents. They now face five straight ranked teams in upcoming weeks.
Multiple Top-10 SEC Teams Suffer Defeats
Texas joined Alabama and LSU as top-10 SEC squads that lost on the same day. Alabama fell to Georgia on a late field goal after a disputed pass interference call on its final drive. LSU dropped an overtime decision to Kentucky by a score of 35-34. That marked the second straight overtime win for Kentucky by one point after a similar result the prior week. With two losses already, LSU faces elimination games the rest of the way.
