Phillips Injury Status
The Panthers are preparing to face the Buccaneers on Sunday without outside linebacker Jaelan Phillips, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Phillips reinjured his left hamstring during the win over the Eagles and left the game in the first half before returning late in the third quarter. The team is taking a cautious approach with the injury after he had only two weeks off from the initial setback. Phillips signed a four-year, $120 million deal in March and has recorded 2.5 sacks this season.
Additional Absences and Moves
Special teams contributor Thomas Incoom is also sidelined with a calf injury and is considered week-to-week. The team plans to elevate practice squad linebacker Nick Hampton to help cover those duties. Running back Chuba Hubbard, right tackle Taylor Moton and tight ends Tommy Tremble and Darren Waller received veteran rest days.
Practice Participation
Running back AJ Dillon and offensive tackle Monroe Freeling returned to full participation after missing the prior week. Quarterback Bryce Young was also a full participant despite appearing on the injury report with a knee issue. The Panthers will continue to monitor Phillips and evaluate the situation ahead of their next game.
