Touchdown and Penalty
Carolina Panthers tight end Tommy Tremble caught a 19-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter of a 25-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. After the score he pointed toward defensive back Cooper DeJean and drew a taunting flag. The 15-yard penalty forced a 48-yard extra-point attempt that Ryan Fitzgerald missed wide right.
Payback for Earlier Play
Tremble said the action came after DeJean drew an unnecessary roughness call on Mitchell Evans during a 5-yard run by Chuba Hubbard. Evans went to the ground in the exchange and the Panthers received 15 yards. Tremble noted he did not see the initial contact but reacted once he learned of the penalty on his teammate.
Tremble's Overall Performance
Tremble finished with four catches for 46 yards and both of Carolina's touchdowns in the Week 6 game. He also lined up at fullback and helped create running room. Teammates credited his blocking and clutch plays as the offense continues to gain momentum.
