Calf Injury Sidelines Veteran Receiver
The Patriots placed wide receiver Mack Hollins on injured reserve after he exited last Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills with a calf issue. The move comes after Hollins had stepped into a larger role following A.J. Brown's high-ankle sprain in the season opener. Hollins had recorded 15 receptions for 209 receiving yards through the first four games.
Roster Thinned at Skill Positions
With Hollins unavailable, New England will carry just four wide receivers on the active roster for Sunday's home game against the 3-1 Las Vegas Raiders. The remaining options are Romeo Doubs, DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism III and Kyle Williams. Brown remains eligible for a potential return designation next week.
Additional Moves and Depth Additions
The club also placed fullback Reggie Gilliam on injured reserve, bringing the total players on IR to 19, which already exceeds the full-season figure from 2025. Special teams contributor Brenden Schooler was activated from the non-football injury list, while seven-year cornerback Kindle Vildor was promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. The team has ruled out four cornerbacks, including starters Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis III, for the 1 p.m. contest. Linebacker K.J. Britt and safety Elliott Davison were elevated from the practice squad.
