Porzingis Expected Back at Warriors Facility Tuesday

Kristaps Porzingis is slated to arrive at the Golden State Warriors practice facility Tuesday afternoon. Head coach Steve Kerr confirmed the timeline, noting that the center has been away from the team during the opening two weeks of preseason to handle a private health issue.

Unclear Timeline for Return

It remains uncertain when Porzingis will be ready to play again. The Warriors will be in Las Vegas for a preseason game on Tuesday, while Porzingis meets with lead medical decision maker Rick Celebrini in San Francisco. The center has stayed in regular contact with Celebrini and the front office throughout his absence.

Contract and Recent Playing History

He later signed a two-year, $40 million contract this summer, with only $3 million of the $20 million for next season guaranteed. The structure gives the team flexibility to move the center if needed.

Lineup Adjustments

With Porzingis unavailable, Kerr is considering a smaller starting group featuring Steph Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Gui Santos, Yaxel Lendeborg and Draymond Green. The front office has directed the coaching staff and players to focus on the upcoming season rather than the uncertainty surrounding his availability.
