The Rays grabbed a 2-1 lead in the sixth when Caminero doubled off the left-field wall. They broke the game open in the seventh after two base hits and a double steal put runners in scoring position. Aranda then lined a single that got past a diving Bazzana at second base, allowing two runs to score. An error by right fielder DeLauter let another run come in, and Simpson followed with a sacrifice fly to make it a three-run inning.
Martinez Delivers on the Mound
Nick Martinez earned his first postseason win by allowing one run and two hits over 5⅓ innings on a 46-degree night. Cleveland had taken a 1-0 lead in the first on DeLauter's RBI single, but Martinez settled in and retired 10 straight batters at one point.
