Injury Details
Tyler Shough suffered two broken bones in his left hand during the Saints' 45-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Oct. 5. The quarterback has taped his ring and pinky fingers together on the non-throwing hand and worn a protective glove over a heavy bandage. The injury is expected to take weeks to heal, though one estimate suggested a couple of months. Shough has remained a full participant in practice and has not missed any games.
Recent Performance
He recorded a career-low 96 yards and threw two interceptions in the 23-13 loss that left the Saints at 1-4. Shough has been sacked 13 times in five games.
Upcoming Schedule
Shough is expected to continue the adjusted handing technique for Sunday's game against the New York Giants. The Saints then face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Paris before their bye week, which should provide additional recovery time. Shough has expressed belief that the team can go on a run despite the challenges.
