Booklet Found at Team Hotel
A Texas Tech supporter reported finding a booklet with Colorado offensive plans in the lobby of the Buffaloes' Broomfield hotel the evening before the Oct. 3 matchup. The material listed 17 series openers along with 24 plays noted as must calls, plus notes on opponent tendencies.
Coach Minimizes the Matter
Deion Sanders described the situation as an occasional mistake that occurs at both college and professional levels. He noted the team does not carry a complete playbook and instead works from scripts that can be misplaced. The coach stressed that the focus should remain on moving ahead rather than dwelling on the error, adding that even access to an opponent's early plays would not guarantee success without proper execution on the field.
Game Outcome and Future Outlook
Colorado covered 75 yards for a score on its first possession, using plays that matched images from the booklet. The Buffaloes added no further points in the 29-7 loss, their third straight defeat. Sanders indicated coaches would treat any discovered script with caution, viewing it possibly as a decoy. The team prepares to host No. 11 Utah on Saturday night.
