Walker Struggles in Return
Kansas City running back Kenneth Walker III posted his lowest output of the year against the Seattle Seahawks. He gained 36 yards on 14 carries and added 21 yards on four receptions. The performance came in a 20-3 loss during his first game back in Seattle after signing with the Chiefs.
Defensive Plan Limits Production
The Seahawks kept seven defenders in the box on eight of Walker's carries and held him to 19 yards on those attempts. They used nickel or dime personnel on all 50 offensive snaps and prevented him from gaining 10 yards on any single run. Seattle entered the matchup with 35 straight games without allowing a 100-yard rusher.
Chiefs Offense Stalled Without Key Pieces
Without tackle Josh Simmons and right tackle Jaylon Moore, plus receivers Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton, Kansas City could not generate much after the early deficit. The team reached the red zone zero times in Patrick Mahomes' 153rd start. The Chiefs finished with six receptions for 39 yards from their remaining receivers and managed only five carries for Walker in the second half.
