Senators Forward Eklund Faces Extended Absence Due to Ankle Injury

Ottawa Senators forward William Eklund will miss an extended period after suffering an ankle injury in Thursday's 2-1 victory over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers.

Performance and Acquisition Details

Eklund has recorded a goal and an assist across four games this season. The Senators obtained the forward in June through a trade that sent the ninth pick in the 2026 NHL draft to San Jose. Green indicated no surgery is anticipated and that Eklund should return before the end of the campaign.

Team Outlook and Additional Updates

Green stressed that the focus remains on the active roster and the club's ability to secure wins despite absences, noting prior success in similar situations. He also provided positive news on injured defensemen Jake Sanderson and Artem Zub, who are expected to rejoin the team within the next few days.
