Wilson Joins Pittman on IR

The Pittsburgh Steelers placed Roman Wilson on injured reserve because of a finger injury, marking the second important receiver sidelined in consecutive weeks. Wilson sustained the injury during the team's Week 5 victory over the Indianapolis Colts and will be out for at least four weeks. The wideout had recorded two touchdown receptions this season while serving as a preferred deep target for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Elevations and Additional Concerns

Last week the Steelers had already moved Michael Pittman Jr. to injured reserve with an aggravated foot issue. To help fill the gaps against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team promoted Brandon Smith and Brandon Johnson from the practice squad. The club also ruled out Ben Skowronek, meaning three of the top five pass catchers will be unavailable. Tight end Pat Freiermuth was added to the injury report with a calf problem and listed as questionable for the Sunday game.

Positive Update on Metcalf

On a brighter note, the Steelers removed top wideout DK Metcalf from the injury list after he missed Friday's practice with an illness. Rodgers expressed confidence in the practice-squad additions, noting their experience at the highest level and past success when given opportunities. He also highlighted prior familiarity with both Smith and Johnson as they step into larger roles.
