Texans Send Picks for Harrison Jr.
The Texans improved to their first victory of the season and then sent a second-round pick and a sixth-round pick to the Cardinals in exchange for a seventh-round pick and wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. The move came despite Houston already having Nico Collins at the position and despite Harrison posting a 1.54 yards-per-route-run mark that ranked 70th among 130 qualifying wideouts along with 47.8 receiving yards per game that ranked 44th. His separation on targets stood at 2.1 yards, the lowest figure among receivers with at least 50 targets over the past three seasons, while his expected catch rate of 53.7 percent aligned closely with his actual 53.5 percent catch rate and modest 34 yards over expected. Harrison reached 18 mph on just 3.1 percent of routes, well below the league average of 6.5 percent. The contract numbers remain modest at $776,000 for the rest of 2026, $5.6 million in 2027 and a projected $17.2 million fifth-year option in 2028, totaling $23.6 million over three seasons.
