Injuries Sideline Starters
The Texans will be without running back David Montgomery and safety Jalen Pitre when they take on the Jaguars. Both players suffered injuries in last week's 26-3 win and have started every game this season for the 1-4 club. Montgomery dealt with a groin issue while Pitre has a shoulder problem.
Replacements Step Up
Second-year back Woody Marks is set to handle the main rushing duties. Marks is averaging 3.5 yards per carry with 149 yards and two touchdowns. Rookie safety Kamari Ramsey is expected to fill in at the other spot. Montgomery has 138 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground along with seven catches for 67 yards and one score this season, though his 2.7 yards per carry mark is a career low.
Receiver Also Sits Out
Wide receiver Tank Dell will not make the trip either. The team opened his practice window on Oct. 7 as he works back from a knee injury suffered in December of 2024 that caused him to miss the entire 2025 campaign. Dell has practiced the last two weeks without issues after spending time on injured reserve with a return designation before the season. The third-round pick from the 2023 draft had 51 catches for 667 yards and three touchdowns in 2024.
