Taylor ruled out by decision
Cornerback Alontae Taylor will not play against the Colts. The move is listed as a coach's decision rather than an injury. Taylor had appeared on 99.7 percent of defensive snaps across the team's first five games after signing a three-year, $58 million contract that included $42 million guaranteed. He had recorded 19 tackles and one sack through those contests.
Secondary changes and struggles
Josh Williams, signed to a two-year, $8 million deal, will start in Taylor's spot after being activated from injured reserve. Cornerback Isaiah Oliver received a game-day elevation from the practice squad. The unit has produced only two interceptions all season, and the cornerback group has yet to record a pass breakup. Starting safety Kevin Winston Jr. is also unavailable because of a quad injury.
Additional lineup adjustments
The Titans revamped their secondary earlier by adding Taylor and signing Cor'Dale Flott to a three-year, $45 million contract.
