Opening Night Frustrations
The Warriors opened the season with a 127-105 defeat after starting rookie Yaxel Lendeborg on the wing. Despite the individual success, Los Angeles built a 35-point lead with scoring bursts of 32, 34 and 36 points across the first three quarters.
On-Court Exchanges
Physical play led to heated moments, including a second-quarter sequence where Lendeborg picked up a foul near the top of the key. The rookie drew a technical foul late in the half after continuing to engage while the Warriors pushed in transition. With time expiring, Doncic connected on a 48-foot halfcourt shot and celebrated toward the nearest defender.
Postgame Assessment
Lendeborg finished with 12 points in 29 minutes but was called for four fouls. He described the experience as his first exposure to constant foul-seeking and complaining at this level. Warriors coach Steve Kerr noted the back-and-forth and questioned one of the technical calls. The teams are scheduled to meet again on Oct. 30 in San Francisco.
