Warren gets an inviting assignment

Tyler Warren enters Week 4 averaging 13.1 fantasy points, but a visit to Washington offers room for more. The Commanders have surrendered 20-plus fantasy points to tight ends in each of their opening three games and allowed a position-high 3.21 points per target. Warren’s average depth of target is just 1.9 yards, limiting his downfield opportunities. Washington’s struggles after the catch could help offset that restriction: opposing tight ends have averaged 8.9 yards after the catch against the Commanders.

McMillan and Goff merit consideration

Tetairoa McMillan has a chance to rebound against Detroit after managing 3.7 fantasy points against Cleveland. Despite running 45 routes in that game, he drew only five targets. The Lions present a more favorable assignment, having allowed five wide receivers to reach 11-plus fantasy points. Detroit has also conceded 2.05 points per target to the position. On the other side of that matchup, Jared Goff brings steady production into Carolina. He has scored at least 16 fantasy points in each of the opening three weeks without an interception. Caleb Williams and Deshaun Watson collectively averaged 0.59 fantasy points per passing attempt against the Panthers, above the league average of 0.45.

Tougher paths for Hurts and Andrews

Jalen Hurts faces a Rams defense allowing only 5.2 yards per passing attempt. Philadelphia’s protection adds concern, with the Eagles sitting 22nd in pass block win rate. His rushing ability remains a reason to consider him, but the matchup lowers expectations. Mark Andrews also draws a difficult opponent in Tennessee after a hand injury helped restrict him to 47% of Baltimore’s offensive snaps in Week 3. He finished with 5.4 fantasy points. The Titans have allowed opposing tight ends Kenyon Sadiq, Dallas Goedert and Isaiah Likely a combined 16.1 fantasy points. Matchups can break close lineup ties, but they should not outweigh every other factor in a start-or-sit decision.
