Recovery After Heavy Loss
Mikel Arteta said Arsenal needed to respond after a 3-0 defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion left the squad questioning its approach.
Tough Conditions at Home
Facing Leeds at Emirates Stadium with a 12.30 kick-off and 16 players unavailable created extra pressure. Arteta noted the visitors had not lost in the league and arrived in strong form, yet the home side found a way through after falling behind to an opener in the 55th minute.
Goals Turn the Match
Riccardo Calafiori and substitute Bruno Guimarães scored to secure a 2-1 result that moved Arsenal level on points with Manchester City. The manager stressed the importance of proving the team's identity remained intact following the earlier defeat.
Learning and Moving Forward
Arteta described the process of examining his own role and the squad's shortcomings without assigning blame elsewhere. He highlighted Guimarães delivering another decisive contribution from the bench, underlining the quality required to keep collecting wins.
