Hierarchy Shows Support
Enzo Maresca singled out the presence of CEO Ferran Soriano and director of football Hugo Viana in the directors box for the 3-0 win at Liverpool. The manager said the senior figures set an example of togetherness that the club needs during a high-stakes fixture away from home.
Players Block Out Noise
Maresca noted that the squad faced a difficult period in the two or three weeks leading up to the match but responded positively on the pitch. He stressed the importance of creating their own momentum through results rather than reacting to outside discussion, and pointed to the final whistle at Anfield as evidence that the focus had paid off.
Appeal Remains Pending
The club has lodged an appeal against the independent commission's finding of 114 breaches of Premier League financial rules. Maresca said his role is to prepare the team for matches and expressed hope that any further comments on the matter can wait until after a successful appeal.
