Victory Amid Scrutiny
Manchester City secured a 3-0 result against Liverpool at Anfield in their opening match following the Premier League's ruling on financial breaches. The club has appealed the decision, yet the outcome on the pitch prompted celebrations that drew external criticism. Enzo Maresca emphasized that the focus remains solely on securing wins, noting the squad's daily efforts and the joy felt both on the field and in the dressing room after such a challenging away fixture.
Player Reactions and Focus
Captain Rúben Dias highlighted that the team will continue to express emotions tied to each result, regardless of the ongoing legal matters. He described the group as calm while placing trust in the club's handling of the appeal. Maresca added that maintaining concentration has proven straightforward for the players and staff, though supporters have encountered greater difficulty amid outside commentary.
Upcoming Challenge
City return to the Etihad Stadium for their next home fixture against Paris Saint-Germain. Maresca pointed out the particular demands of performing at Anfield and stressed that internal satisfaction with the three points takes precedence over external opinions.
