Decision Draws Second-Guessing
Pat Murphy defended keeping Jacob Misiorowski out of the action in Game 4 even after the Brewers built a 3-0 series lead. The manager noted that the right-hander was prepared to enter but emphasized the need to balance immediate needs against the plan for Game 5. Misiorowski had started all 33 of his regular-season and postseason outings, so inserting him in relief would have altered the next day's rotation.
How the 12th Unfolded
Tampa Bay scored twice against Shane Drohan to win 4-3 in 12 innings. Antonio Senzatela had started the extra frame before giving way after an error by Joey Ortiz allowed Junior Caminero to reach base. Misiorowski remained in the bullpen without loosening up, preserving his availability on four days' rest.
Dominant Season in Focus
Misiorowski finished the regular season 16-5 with a 1.80 ERA and 252 strikeouts, numbers that fueled debate over whether he should have been used to close out the potential clincher. Murphy acknowledged the criticism but said the factors weighed against a quick change, noting that starters require time to prepare and that any late-inning trouble would have left the club without its top option the following day.
